Premium Australian Labradoodles in North Carolina
My name is David Semper. My passion for animals began even before working at my first job as a Vet assistant at Lawndale Animal Hospital; as I volunteered as a teenager at the Greensboro Science Center as an Animal Curator and handler. My passion moved to studying and learning all about raising and training dogs as I entered the world of AKC dog shows after college. I enjoyed exhibiting purebred dogs and learning about proper conformation and bone structure, health, temperament and desirable traits in a variety of breeds. When it was time for me to get a dog of my own, I knew I wanted some specifics : Small- Medium size, Non- Shedding, healthy + longevity, even tempered and versatile. I wanted a dog that would be a cuddle bug at night but able to go on a hike easily during the day! To my surprise that breed was not a breed I had seen in the AKC show rings.. it was an Australian Labradoodle, not to be confused with just "Labradoodle"! My love for this amazing breed has grown deep, and I will never not sleep next to an Australian Labradoodle! (amazing guardians by the way..!) Being an Australian Labradoodle Breeder, and sharing this wonderful breed with other families has become my true life’s passion. I used to say they were the best kept secret in dogs, but I'm not so sure they are a secret anymore!
Supreme Health, Temperaments, Coats
All of our Australian Labradoodles have full Genetic Panel testing that confirm clear congenital defects, in addition to OFA Hip, Elbow and patella certifications, eye + heart clearances and more! Our dogs have luxurious, stunning, non-shedding fleece coats, which we confirm with genetic testing as well! Each puppy is socialized and trained throughout the initial 8 weeks of life to ensure a smooth transition to their new homes. We only breed dogs with perfect temperaments: Confident, happy, playful, obedient, calm , even tempered companions!
Australian Labradoodle- What We Breed
In Australia in the late 1980s, Wally Conron bred a Labrador with a Poodle in attempt to produce asthma and allergy friendly service dogs. Since one of the parents was a heavy shedding Labrador, it is unsurprising that this litter wasn't particularly successful, but it was the start of something very special.
Two Australian breeders - Tegan Park and Rutland Manor - picked up from where Wally Conron left off. Realising that more than two breeds were going to be required to create an allergy and asthma friendly service dog, four other breeds were infused over multiple generations - the English and American Cocker Spaniels, the Curly Coat Retriever and the Irish Water Spaniel. The resulting Australian Labradoodles subsequently have been bred to each other, continuing the multi-generational tradition. This results in a unique breed that is MULTI generations removed from any Lab, Poodle or other parent breed. This developing breed quickly became a success with allergy and asthma sufferers and did great work in service and therapy.
The breed made its way to the USA in the 1990s. Nowadays, Australian Labradoodles can be found working in service, as therapy dogs and as much-loved family pets in all corners of the globe.

Our Australian Labradoodle's come in a variety of colors including Red, Brown, Black and a combination of these colors with white markings. We specialize in “Multi Generation” Australian Labradoodles ONLY. Our health tested, coat tested, temperament tested Australian Labradoodles come in a variety of sizes but typically we breed between Miniature and Medium which I find to be the “sweet spot” in size (see below).
Miniature range:
Height: 14 to 16 inches at wither.
Medium range:
Height: 17 to 20 inches at wither.
